[CLOSED] Operation Jack Ketch

[CLOSED] Operation Jack Ketch

Columbia, middle of nowhere

Current situation report:

2030 - For the past four months Colombia has been facing an increase in organized crime. It all started with small raids, cartels making moves on eachother on the streets, nothing the police force and the anti-drug brigades couldn't handle. It all took a turn for the worse when the current President publicly declared the cartels as terrorist organizations instead of criminal gangs and promised to step up all efforts to neutralize them, in a now famous 8 minutes speech. These actions angered the cartels, and instead of fighting eachother they turned their attention to the government and any forces representing it, including the armed forces. A civil war soon followed, and the CAF(Colombian Armed Forces) were swiftly routed from bases across the country. Yesterday, the crisis was recognized on a national level, and the decision to let loose the NAS (Naval Assault Squadron), you, was made.

Mission briefing:

Mission
Your mission objective will be to liberate as many bases as possible and disrupt cartel activity. You start at the NAS HQ near San Antonio. Using the borrowed MKV SOCs from the USSOCOM you will take advantage of the waterways where we have superiority to reach enemy garrisons and bases, clearing them and denying the enemy access to any assets as you deem it fit. You will also look for and neutralize any officers and disrupt the chain of command to the best of your abilities. The first assigned objective is Castillo La Victoria, a star fortress that controls access to the Gulf of Briceno. The CAF has been shelling it for the past few days, but we expect the cartel to still have a sizeable garrison there. Your next objective will be to head further inland, clearing any bases and outposts that you are assigned. These will most likely be around Briceno, San Bernando and Montilebano. You're also being reinforced by two A-29 Super Tucanos from La Trevesia airbase.

Threat report
Make no mistake, despite the term ''cartel'' being used your enemy is not under-equipped. Recent reports have shown heavy usage of small and heavy arms, motorized and mechanized vehicles (expect BTRs, Offroad .50s, civillian transports and light military alike) and there have been sightings of converted CAF vehicles. To our knowledge, they do not utilize any heavy or armed naval assets. Their air capabilities are also limited to old soviet helicopters and stolen Cessnas armed with various pods. The enemy is well organized and operates in squads of nine and they've shown a basic tactical knowledge. Despite all of this, we still expect you to have the upper hand.

Maps of the area:
Objectives:

Main Obj.: Disrupt cartel activity

  • As simple as the name suggests, you should try your best to hinder the cartel's efforts. This ranges from inflicting casualties to destroying ammo caches as you find them , neutralizing officers and recapturing bases.

Obj. 1: Capture Castillo La Victoria

  • The Star fortress that once proctected San Antonio has recently become its biggest enemy. The CAF has been shelling the fortress for a while, and we've opened up 3 entrances, 2 to the North and one to the South. Your task is to recapture the castle, and with it, the island.

(Optional) Capture the Arty. Batt. intact
To the north of Castillo La Victoria the enemy has captured our artillery battery. Do your best to recapture it intact. If the circumstances force you to destroy it, you are authorized to do so.

Obj. 2: Capture bases in the vicinity of Briceno

  • Self explanatory, marked on map with C1 through C4

Obj. 3: Capture bases in the vicinity of San Bernando

  • Split into two sectors, D1 and D2 + A1 and A2

If you get beyond this point, HQ will assign you more sectors. Keep your eyes open for any targets of opportunity (ammo caches, officers, vehicle depos)
