[CLOSED] Operation Black Sand

Operation Black Sand - Stage 1 of Operation Crusader

18th November 1941

Operation Crusader aims to relive the port city of Tobruk, which has been under siege for the last seven months. The 8th Army will try to bypass the Axis defences near the Egyptian-Libyan frontier, destroy the main German armoured forces and dash to Tobruk, hopefully reliving it by the end of the year. Our task in Operation Black Sand will be to destroy Italian long-range artillery south of Tobruk, as the enemy can use it to strike our vulnerable convoys to the north. The enemy has been in this area for almost a year, so they've had time to prepare defences and get to know the terrain. They will likely use the mountain range to the south to hide most of their heavy equipment.
The second task is to find and destroy Axis supply depots that could help the enemy organise a strong counterattack and try to cut the city once again.
This operation will be a test op to help us determine if it’s worth doing a WW2 Campaign. It will mainly test the unit’s abilities in communication without SR radios, coordination with limited map tools and usage of CAS.
