- 2 Months prior - Banadir Somalia 1990
After Diplomatic discussions, Somalia’s president has asked the US and NATO for direct intervention as a new terrorist group is running rampant in the country, there have been reports that they have support from russian weapons and supplies as well as many corrupt officials turning a blind eye for big sums of money, they have currently been trying to overthrow the government and instate a radical muslim regime with iron fist, not only that the president have let us know that there are reports of signs of scud launchers as well as other dirty bombs spotted in radical insurgent hands, because of this the US have pledged to send direct aid as well as train up the Somali Military forces and keep the Peace in key regions until they have successfully trained their own troops. - Thu March 21 1990
Spies left behind in the Somali army have found evidence that the leaders of the Somali army around Mogadishu have been secretly siphoning weapons to the terrorist and rebel forces in the area and found documents of the next convoy of weapons coming in from Al Salim the next day, however we have sadly lost contact with these agents.
We also have reports of the enemy insurgent forces becoming more active and might be planning to overthrow the guards at multiple political buildings housing US politicians. Plans have begun immediately to prepare for the worst case scenario, because of this extra forces are being deployed to the region and are said to arrive in 30 hours
We also found evidence of multiple stashes of weapons and ammunition hiding in the city, as well as some homes hiding weapons themselves, it would be in our best interest to destroy as much as we can. - Thu March 22 1990 - Today
US Command of the 72nd Motorised Infantry section stationed around Mogadishu has been tasked to ambush the enemy convoy before saving all trapped Politicians and restoring the peace.
For this we will use the night as our cover, as most enemies will not have been trained in night combat.
US intelligence together with Somali Police forces are currently investigating the corruption of 2 high ranked officers in the Somali military, sadly we do not know the full scope of the corruption and which officers are involved, but we are preparing to raid multiple bases and help the Somali police in the investigation where possible. - 3 Hours ago
Not only the enemy officers but all of the Somali Military forces have become hostile! they are working directly with the extremist and have killed and replaced multiple police forces as well as assaulting the embassy and the villa with VIP’s still inside, from now on ALL Somali Forces with exception of Police forces are to be considered hostile, and ROE has been changed to open fire on ALL Somali military forces. - 2 hours ago
All contact with friendly forces at the Embassy and the villa has been broken, we suspect the worst, shots have been slowing down and the first attacks are sighted near the US garrison at the station. - 1 Hour ago
Military high command has approved a rescue mission for all VIP’s residing in Mogadishu, they are to be recovered and the Embassy is to be secured, if we cannot secure the area our task is to get the VIP’s safely to the safehouse north of Mogadsihu, additional troops will arrive soon - 30 minutes ago
All attacks on friendly forces north and east of Mogadishu has seized, however large groups of movement are still spotted in the close vicinity, we suspect that they are waiting for nightfall and more supplies before continuing their assault.
Furthermore, enemies have contacted the US embassy to try and negotiate for release of the prisoners, however we would like to try and save them instead of making deals with terrorists.
Mission briefing
Our task is to first ambush the enemy convoy into the city Before they can use the heavy equipment to dig into the city, then after secure all politicians and VIP’s still residing into enemy held Mogadishu, their safety is important, but if possible destroy enemy caches in the area as well as any other depots or troop concentrations you can find to lower enemy resistance in the area.
If the situation gets too dire and holding at the Embassy is no longer viable, you are to evacuate to the safehouse and hold until friendly forces arrive 8 hours from now.

-Multiple m104 and m115 humvees and other variants
-3x Little bird with NVG camera and 2 x Gau 19/a chaingun
-friendly Police forces on the Safehouse
-small UN garrison NE of the city
Enemies will have an array of older Russian vehicles, including a couple of BMPs and T34s, as well as an array of lighter vehicles.
Enemies have very limited IEDs and suicide bombers, IED are only really used at roadblocks (to not allow people to pass through the gaps0 and suicide bombers will only become very used at the defence stage
The enemies have a big armoured convoy coming in from the west, but they are not aware of our presence. Destroying it with pre-placed explosives is the best strategy to take them all out at once. (will go into more detail about that in the SL brief)
