Operation Dunelaw

Operation Dunelaw

May 16th 1991
Anizay Province, Kurdestan

Backstory

After the US left this area in 1975 police forces of the nation took over the fobs and our duty, but corruption has run rampant and these police forces have tied themselves to militia forces that have turned the area into a massive military base with some civilian buildings in between.

Our job is to re-stabilize the area, and then create a more permanent solution, our first task will be to remove these militia forces so civilian’s can return to the area.

Objectives

Most objectives fall within these categories.

  • Destroy
  • Capture HVT
  • Capture or kill target
  • Gather intel
  • Secure the AO

All objectives will be marked on the map, however there are some UNMARKED hardpoints that you might want to clear to, everything will be explained in the pre brief

Notes

Most objectives fall within these categories.

  • there are hidden RADIO JAMMERS they look like UAV trailers, when destroyed the jamming will stop
  • there are hidden enemy FOBs, enemy counterattacks mostly spawn from these, if you trace and destroy them (normally there is an engineering truck or an obvious building to destroy) no more enemy reinforcements should spawn from this area
  • LANDMINES: They are usually placed in obvious locations, for example you can see a broken down vehicle, sign or barricade
  • TRIPWIRES: Some buildings might have a tripwire or trap, there are few and far in between but watch your step
  • This mission will most likely get a decent amount of casualties, and this mission won't be a 1 part either, so don't feel bad for not being able to deal with all objectives, this is designed to have more then one part
  • Intel items: I will try to make them obvious, these will sometimes help you find enemy jammers or fob’s as well as designate extra targets for a part 2 and part 3
UH-60M Blackhawk

Enemy assets
  • They mostly have old NATO, police and old Russian equipment from the war before 75, however there are reports that modern Russian equipment has been smuggled in (1991)
  • Expect 1 or 2 MANPATS, and some iglas for AA
  • Expect mostly technicals and trucks, with some BTRs in between
  • Report showed they have stolen at least 2 t55 tanks and possibly an abandoned IFV
  • They have some older Russian transport helicopters, and use civilian ones as well
  • Enemy infantry is armed with lots of rifles and some AKs, at is somewhat limited as well as any heavy assets
