As part of the British 1st Airborne Division, you will participate in Operation Market Garden. If successful, we might see the war end before Christmas.
You will be dropped around 100 kilometres behind enemy lines via gliders with the main task of securing 2 bridges over the Sanguine River just south of Arnhem. You are to hold these bridges so the XXXth Corps can use them to move towards Arnhem to relief the rest of the 1st Airborne Division.
Intel suggests that you will mainly face a local garrison that mainly consists of Hitlerjugend and old men on bicycles. Montgomery estimates it will take up to three days for the British Armour to reach your position. Due to a lack of transport planes and gliders, the Polish Independent Parachute Brigade will be dropped two days after your initial drop to assist you in the defence. If this operation fails, we might not see an end of the war before Christmas.
