Operation Tempest

Operation Tempest

August 2nd 1944,
Kurozweki and Staszów, Poland,
STASZÓW UPRISING
Background information

Since the start of its occupation since 1939 the Home Army (Polish underground military force) has been planning a general rebellion against the German occupation. With the fast-approaching Soviet forces to the east it has been decided that the Home Army would liberate the capital of Warsaw themselves. The main reason for it is that hopefully it would assert Polish sovereignty after the war.  We received our order too late and just yesterday the Home Army begun the revolt in and around Warsaw area. You are a freshly mobilised, heavily undersupplied partisan group that was supposed to assist in the uprising. Situated around 30km away from the capital it has been decided that the best course of action would be to start an uprising in a local town of Staszów, hopefully putting pressure off Warsaw.

The operation has been divided into 2 stages:
Mission - Stage 1

As our unit is heavily under supplied with most of the men not even possessing a handgun we are ought to assault a local German arsenal and vehicle station situated in the town of Kurozweki. The more supplies we find the better for us once we begin the uprising. We are also awaiting the supply drop from our Western Allies in exchange for some documents that were handed to us by the Home Army before the operation begun.

Stage 1
Mission - Stage 2

Whatever happens by the next day we are beginning our own Operation Tempest with whatever equipment we have at our disposal. As our numbers are low we are to hold the key strategic locations around the town, we can use Staszów’s sewage canals to move around without being engaged by the Germans.

Stage 2

The ultimate aim is to hold out until the soviet forces arrive from the east to help us push the Germans out.

JESZCZE POLSKA NIE ZGINEŁA

Additional Information:

During Stage 1 you will be given a limited amount of time on finding and bringing the supplies back to the hideout. The mission file will change after a certain amount of time. The more you bring back the more equipment you will have at your disposal during the uprising.

Stage 2 will begin a few days after the uprising has begun.

LRs are extremely limited, SRs are still given out to SLs and TLs to reduce chaos but they are to be only used to communicate within the squad.
