After the collapse of the Russian Economy, the massive country got divided into separate countries. Each country having a firepower to take down small countries or enemy states. The old Russia can not be hold responsible for the damage they cause, since they act on their own and thus Russia can't be held accountable. Intel from a AWACS plane showed increased activity around Kerama Islands. A series of islands that contain civilians cities, airfields, farms, military bases, research facilities and a submarine base from the '80.
According to older intel a corps is stationed there from the old Russia. This corps doesn't have any names etc, but they are a threat to the world nation. With the arsenal they have they can stop shipping lines coming in and out of the Panama Canal. NATO has decided to step in and perform a demolition mission and gain intel in the process about their operations, meaning this could be a tasking spread over multiple operations. NATO has given us the assignment to perform multiple demolition tasks in the Southern Airfield of Kerama Islands.
Our main goal here is to weaken enemy air forces, so in future operation we can control the air. Apart from the demolition task we need to secure data from the airfields data-centre. Location of this data-centre is unknown. And to make sure we control the air, we must destroy a nearby enemy destroyer that is now at Kerama Islands for resupply.
